Pre-Release Tour: Unforgiving by Adnan Alisic

Title: Unforgiving
Author: Adnan Alisic
Genre: Contemporary, Young Adult
Expected Release Date: January 2017

12 years after surviving horrific massacre, 15-year- old Meho commits ruthless murders and sets in motion the event which could change the world order.

The murders are followed by the trial of the century, where media vilifies Meho as a psychopath, mass murderer, and a monster — all under the influence of FBI, who are trying to conceal the identity of the victims and protect the National Security.

The only person who believes that Meho is innocent is his 10-year-old brother Bucky, who will turn heavens and earth to free Meho. After learning the truth, Bucky is devastated, but not all things are as they seem, and the truth will be revealed at the very end.

1. What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
Real-life incident. After witnessing those massacres, I always wondered what would happen to the boy if he managed to escape. What kind of life would he be living? Would he seek revenge? All those thoughts played through my head, and one night erupted into this story.

2. When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process(outline, plot, character names, editing, etc.
I love rewriting. Once that first draft is finished, at that moment I know the whole shape of the story. Then I can rearrange the scenes, take out stuff, reinforce the plot, or further develop the characters.

3. When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
I like real-life stories. In them there's temporary escape, and when you read them, you forget about your own problems when you learn that someone had it worse than you. In those stories you'll find inspiration, motivation, hope.

4. If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
Khaled Hosseini is an extraordinary writer. All of his stories are memorable and it would be a privilege to co-write with him.

5. Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
I would never imagine myself as being a writer. It all happened by being placed in the right place, at the right time, with a lot of time on my hands with all those memories juggling in my head.
